I Quit

Happy Monday guys! I have been so obsessed with this jacket from Zara and super soft and vintage style Led Zeppelin tee. I’ve been wearing them both pretty much all week // weekend. How was your weekend?

On a more personal note…I QUIT. I have continuously talked about this, but for those of you who do not know, in addition to the blog, I have worked full time in event marketing. However, as of a couple Fridays ago, I officially quit. Well, Friday March 1oth is my official last day.

It was such a hard decision because I absolutely loved the company I worked for.  My TEAM & boss were incredible, I was constantly learning new strategies + best practices, I was continuously growing as a manager, the schedule was somewhat flexible and, let’s be honest, my clients were awesome (I marketed beer – & one of my favorite beers to be exact, Blue Moon).

I started my blog about a year and 8 months ago and I finally took the plunge – I left my full time job to enter the extremely exciting yet terrifying world of blogging (aka being your own boss, owning your own business etc.) full time. What!?

To be completely transparent, I’ve had this goal ever since my blog started. I continuously strategized ways to monetize the blog’s content as much as possible in order for it to become its own business.

How did I know it was time to leave? While I could still try and balance both the full time + blogging, I realized something had to give.

  • I was running on little brain power because I would work so much to try and pack everything in to ensure I met my deadlines. It was an around the clock thing with little down time (& sleep).  I’d be sitting on my couch until 3am going through emails, editing photos and writing posts so they’d be published in time for their due date, and then realizing I still had about 10 more things to do in order for me to be on track between both jobs.
  • I honestly love working and I don’t mind the hard work, I love it! However, there have been so many fun opportunities I had to turn down because it conflicted with my full time job & I started to not have time to excel in the things I am most passionate about.
  • Now is the time. I feel like the whole influencer // blogging industry is in full force at the moment and we don’t know what’s going to come next so I felt like I had to immerse myself in it 100%, without any distractions, now more than ever.

So what can you, as readers, expect now?  There are so many things I want to do to grow my brand even more in order to be more helpful & responsive to you guys. You will see more consistent postings, quality content and more.

I want to extend a HUGE thank you to you readers, this all wouldn’t be possible with out your support…seriously, thank you thank you thank you thank you. Here is to new beginnings. I am so excited. Cheers!
